Reading through Proverbs...Came to
Proverbs 14:34...so applicable, so scary in today's world. We're
living in Romans 1 it seems.
As I read this I was reminded of a poem I wrote many years ago.(Don't remember when, but it was a long time ago.)
(Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a
reproach to any people. )
I hear the sound,
I hear it well.
Satan screams his challenge
From blackest hell.
Now I hear the assembly call,
And soon his fiery darts will fall
As he gathers his evil forces near
To mount a charge on God's creation dear.
Every eye looks up to see
Who will fight and who will flee?
Who will stand and meet the foe,
And who will turn and weakly go?
Who will rally?
Who will stand?
In all the earth there's
One small band.
Stand firm, O Chosen!
Stand firm's the cry!
For if you fall back,
Then who will try?
Stand - and don't be afraid.
Fight - and do not dismay.
God has promised triumph
Is yours on victory day.
Can it be true?
Can you start now to sing?
Ah, yes - For yours is the Savior.
Yours is the King.
(Rev 19:11-16)
